After ~7 years of experience and my close rendezvous with various professionals from multiple industries, I have learned a lot of things about professional industry and it's DO's and Don't, Positives and negatives and common trend which took a toll not only on industry but on professionals too. Here, I want to highlight few points which in my opinion I think is impacting/ impacted industry the most...
1. Over-commitment : This is one thing which I have always seen as the biggest problem in most of the professional companies and individuals. They commit to complete 10 modules/things in the time frame in which every one knows only 3 modules/things could be done properly and then they push the team's involved to work like pigs increasing their frustrations and affecting their abilities and for what?
For 10 broken pieces along with broken client trust and employee's harmony & satisfaction. Instead, positively client would have preferred 3 fully functional and good quality modules/things.
2. Over-Analyzing : Analyzing an issue or problem is an art too. But over analysis might lead everybody involved to an an endless road (Read multiple meetings, blame-game, office politics and ultimately to a deadlock). Sometimes, I see professionals over analyzing a situation and taking steps needlessly which not only create a havoc but also confuses involved individuals and client.
3. Loose Estimates : Estimates are one of the most integral and most screwed up part for almost all the industries. There are many ways to estimate but people/professionals put on estimates based on their experiences without taking into account factors such as competency, skill sets, avg. experience and domain/ business knowledge.
In-fact I have seen estimates which in a way is an effort to make 9 women deliver a baby in 1 month which as far as I know is Impossible.
4. Insensitivity towards Employees : Most professional companies especially Indian professional industry is highly insensitive towards their employees and their needs. They do claim to be very sensitive and highly appreciative to their employees but many a times you will notice quite opposite to it. Employees are the core strength of the companies and less motivated, unhappy employees are the first sign of downfall of any company. This should be one major concern a company should have but generally employee satisfaction is either not in the agenda for most of the companies or more commonly on least priority.
5. Self created Deadlocks : Slowing down promotions, stopping Visa applications, hikes or creating tons of policy for cost reduction may help a company on a short run but it does have a negative impact in future. In a way company itself creates a deadlock for them and things become out of control as there is a pile up of aspirations and tougher time for middle and senior management to handle aspiration, anger and demotivated employees. Instead in my opinion promotions, hikes, visa application must be a continuous phenomenon, company is free to take liberty and reduce numbers or slots but should never break the chain.
These are just few points which I have noticed being part of professional industry, I may be wrong at few things and I request you to feel free and add/correct wherever you feel like...

You are a good writer. A brave one too since you are explicit. I do agree most of the pointers you made. Nobody is ever to admit that it happens.
